We would like to extend our gratitude to the Reethi Raajje campaign team for inviting us to their awareness and cleaning session in Addu. This was a huge step forward for us in raising awareness and building connections. We hope to have more collaborations like this in the future. 

We decorate glass bottles collected during our cleanup trips to raise awareness about the importance of recycling and to reveal the beauty in what might otherwise seem like garbage.

Growing breadfruit trees by grafting has proven immensely successful. The plants grow and bear fruit faster, so we use this method for most of our cultivation.

Cleaning uninhabited islands is something we continue to do regardless of the hurdles we face. This is voluntary work we are doing and due to the lack of resources, it has been difficult to carry it out at the speed we want to. In the future we hope to get the finance to be able

Defying the outdated belief that women can’t lead, these trailblazing women have built and now run a powerful NGO that is driving real, lasting change in their community. They are living proof that women, especially older women, can do the hard work, challenge the norms, and lead with purpose and impact.

The plants we care for reside in remote places and are require a long commute. Regardless of how difficult it is, we do it for the betterment of our community! 

We are deeply honored to have met with the Australian High Commissioner to discuss our work and upcoming projects. This is a huge step for us as we build new connections and networks to improve our efficiency in getting our core message out there, spreading awareness, and inspiring people to join us in our efforts

It is a privilege to be invited to forums and workshops regarding the environment. It helps us spread awareness and further spread our message. This is all a big step forward for our NGO and we are deeply grateful to those who give us this opportunity.

Veshisaafu is steadfast in keeping our community clean and green. By regularly collecting plastic and other trash strewn about by people, we do our best to keep the city we all live in clean. However, a major challenge we face is not having a plastic compressor so we smash it down with our feet. While
