We are so grateful to have met @genthedarling during her trip to Addu. We had the opportunity to discuss our work with her while showing her around our breadfruit orchard. The image above shows just how damaging plastic is to wildlife. This should be our wake up call to stop littering in the ocean. Your convenience is a death sentence to marine life. Let’s all be more mindful of our littering practices.

We recently visted the farm of Zuvaan Dhanduveriyaa to honor his hard work for our community and environment by gifting him a plaque and a certificate. It is a goal for us to highlight and inspire those like him in our community and the agricultural sector. We wish him all the best on future endeavors

Women are taking initiative to build a clean community and country for the betterment of our citizens. This is not a one-man job and we should all be doing our part for future generations. Do your share. 

Littering suitcases instead of properly disposing of them is an uncivilized action that has to be cleaned up by volunteers. Throw your garbage where it belongs and stop ruining our environment for the sake of convenience. Let’s all be more mindful for a cleaner and greener tomorrow.

Don’t litter in protected or abandoned areas, it harms wildlife, pollutes nature, and takes years to undo. Respect and protect these spaces and throw your garbage away in areas designated for it. Stop normalizing this kind of behavior.

A book raising awareness about breadfruit trees is in the works to help children be more conscious of their environment and teach them about the importance of breadfruit trees in our ecosystem. 

Collecting plastic bottles is a daily task for us here at Veshisaafu. Due to the way we transport them, people have mocked and made fun of us but it will never shake our determination to protect and clean our community.
