We has an immensely fruitful and educational meeting with another local NGO. We brainstormed about various types of events and celebrations that can be held on the upcoming environments day. Not only that, but we also discussed about the future awareness sessions that are going to be held at Addu Nature park for school children

Members of Veshisaafu went to a workshop hosted by the National Social Protection Agency. We would like to thank everybody who warmly welcomed and educated us. These opportunities are something we hope to come by more often.

After deciding to bring our breadfruit program to all of Maldives, the first atoll we stopped by was Lhaviyani atoll! We are so grateful to be able to expand this project of ours and can’t wait for the other islands.

When moving out, people throw away their unwanted furniture in protected areas of the island. I think it is time for authorities to intervene and give them the appropriate punishment in order to stop this behavior. 

As a community we should all come together to clean up the beaches. It not only gives us a good reputation, it also betters our experience. Veshisaafu constantly does beach clean-ups but the issue at hand cannot be solved by a team of few. It takes the community coming together, motivation, and perseverance. 

Breadfruit trees are home to Addu’s native bird, the White Tern. The birds use the breadfruit tree’s sap to stick their eggs for them to grow. However with the declining rate of breadfruit trees, the decline of White Terns has also sped up. We are currently on the way to lose both the tree and
