For us new year celebration was different as we have decided to have a cleanup event on new year’s eve. We have collected plastic trash from the shores of Hithadhoo and had another event in Kan’dihera ( an uninhabited island, biosphere reserve) near Hithadhoo. These islands
should be protected well instead of letting people have picnics there and dump all their waste. Old trees are disappearing and falling due to erosion and the palm trees there are too old that most of them started dying and some falling. A new batch of palm trees need to be planted in all the islands to grow and multiply.
